General Job Function:

This Demand Planning position is responsible for all planning, scheduling and forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, product management and other sources

The Demand Planner within TK Bilstein is the integration point for sales, logistics, supply chain, and our main sources of finished goods products from the TK Bilstein Plants. This position leads, prepares and follows up on the dialogue each month between Sales and Operations / S&OP Meeting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop statistical demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances between forecasts and sales in order to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Create a consensus forecast based on statistical forecast and input gathered from Sales and Product Management.
  • Place Demand orders, using SAP with TK Plants to support sales and forecast, taking into consideration numerous factors such as Plant capacities, budgeted inventory levels, budgeted inventory turns, warehouse space, lead times, obsolescence and delivery commitments to customers.
  • Interact with sales, customers, product management, TK plants, Finance, and Management to understand and meet their needs.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Product Management to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Manage MRP related Master Data and keep them updated for two distribution warehouses.
  • Manage and be accountable for providing the right inventory levels to support sales and at the same time maintain a cash optimized NWC.
  • Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.

  • 4 to 6 years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Planning and Forecasting
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • APICS or other forecasting certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Planning is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)
