Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

Transamerican Auto Parts/4 Wheel Parts is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join us at our NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTER! The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator will ensure proper maintenance and repairs are performed on all material handling equipment (material handling equipment includes but is not limited to, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, batteries, battery chargers and battery changers) used by the Distribution Center, and also ensures the maintenance of the physical structure as appropriate.

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator will report to the Distribution Center Manager.

This opportunity will be located at our NEW Distribution Center we are opening up in Carlisle, PA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery, vehicles and other equipment;
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisor to diagnose problem or repair machine;
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts;
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery;
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment;
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment;
  • Establishes a schedule of regular preventative maintenance for each piece of equipment, and performs regular scheduled maintenance;
  • Creates and maintains a written or electronic “service schedule” and a written or electronic log of all service and repairs performed for each piece of equipment;
  • May design and assemble construction materials to form new areas and equipment such as shelves. Patches and repairs drywall, stucco, wall and floor tile, concrete and wood products. Uses sealers, glues, paints, and paint products as necessary;
  • Coordinates with outside contractors as necessary if work cannot be performed internally;
  • Completes all necessary documentation such as work orders and maintenance checklists;
  • Performs all unscheduled repairs as required to keep the material handling equipment in safe working order;
  • Maintains an adequate in-house parts supply to afford the timely repair of common material handling equipment wear and tear items;
  • Changes batteries as needed to maintain optimal battery charging cycles;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;

Minimum Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks forklifts, and other manual and mechanical material handling and packaging equipment;

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • MHE certification required;

Physical Demands
