The Fixed Asset Accounts Payable Technician is responsible for processing invoices related to the acquisition of the company's fixed assets, as well as all construction and project related invoices. Responsibilities include verification of proper coding and approval, application of company capitalization policy, ensuring correct taxation and data entry of all invoice and fixed asset system data as part of the processing of invoices for payment.  This position also assists with tracking and testing of existing assets.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Review invoices for appropriate approvals, determine if they should be capitalized or expensed and prepare for data entry                               
  • Ensure invoices are taxed appropriately and all fixed asset related information is entered into the system           
  • Communicate with various departments and vendors on invoice or project status inquiries
  • Assist with quarterly asset existence testing                                                      
  • Assist with set up of new activities and projects within Lawson Activity Management
  • Assist other members of the team as needed and other duties or projects as assigned 

This is a full-time opportunity; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.


 

 

 Skills/Qualifications
 
  • Proficient with spreadsheet and word processing software and 10-key by touch
  • Excellent math skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and good organizational skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • One to two years accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
  • General understanding of accounting process assets, liabilities, debits and credits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and commitment to customer service
