Are you a creative web developer looking for a great opportunity? Coker Tire is looking for a full-time PHP Web Developer to add to our marketing and development team.

The PHP Web Developer contributes and helps to create the function, display and flow of web development projects and assists in the maintenance of several websites, including e-commerce sites. Working with the Magento e-commerce platform is a significant role of this position. This individual helps support and monitor web coding, analytics, templating, email coding, and ad rotation.

Typical work responsibilities include:

  • Works with marketing and department lead to identify online competition to ensure our company remains competitive with what is current and top of the line in the market while constantly finding ways to improve our site network
  • Takes the audience, purpose, and future of proposed websites and lists the core functionality necessary to launch
  • Maintains familiarity with creation of wireframe (sketch) of new website - detailing layout, navigation, and core functionality
  • Maintains familiarity with security bulletins and best practices
  • Performs ongoing site maintenance keeping them bug/error free and fixing any errors brought to their attention in a timely manner
  • Utilizing best practices, supports Apache web server farms, resolving errors, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting resolutions
  • Supports various database systems including MySQL, SQL, Redis and Mongo DB.
  • Proactively works with IT to prevent and resolve security issues

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Related college degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5 years experience supporting the Magento e-commerce platform preferred
  • Experience developing Magento modules
  • Understanding of credit card security best practices and PCI certification
  • Must be able to create PHP/HTML/CSS/JS with clean/readable code
  • Familiarity with SCRUM development / project management a plus
  • Familiarity with PHP frameworks. Laravel knowledge a plus.
  • Experience supporting linux servers, performing server maintenance, & performance tuning
  • Experience installing and supporting packaged CMS platforms including Wordpress
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, able to multi-task effectively
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude with the ability to take constructive feedback
  • Must have web portfolio for submission
