Warehouse Associate 2

Transamerican Auto Parts/4 Wheel Parts is looking for Warehouse Associates to join us at our NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTER! The Warehouse Associate 2 will support the operations of the distribution center in the areas of receiving, stocking, pulling and packing of product by performing some or all of the following duties. The Warehouse Associate 2 will typically perform the duties listed in one or two of these areas.

This opportunity will be located at our NEW Distribution Center we are opening up in Carlisle, PA.

Key Responsibilities


  • Operates power and manual merchandising equipment, such as hand trucks and pallet jacks to unload trucks and other containers received, including UPS and FedEx deliveries;
  • Identifies and reports any damaged goods received and signs bill of lading;
  • Communicates overages and shortages, if any, to appropriate personnel;
  • Operates scan guns to check in product correctly;
  • Enters product shipment information into our tracking system;


  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or inventory areas to storage or to other designated areas;
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code;
  • Enters inventory data as required;
  • Performs more detailed database inquires as required;


  • Reads customer order, shipping order, invoice or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed;
  • Pulls items from shelves using and arranges items on pulling cart in an efficient manner for packing;
  • Researches misplaced items using ISIS inventory software to resolve discrepancies on pick tickets;
  • Pulls high value items from secure areas as required;


  • Operates scan gun to identity and verify parts to be packed;
  • Determines the most efficient way to pack an order given volume of parts to be shipped and versus packaging material available, and then packs items for shipment;
  • May use mechanical or manual shrink wrapping equipment as required. May also build custom pallets for outbound freight;


  • Processes all required shipping documentation to include UPS and FedEx documentation;
  • Packs items for international shipments. If so completes required documentation and recommends best method of shipping internationally;
  • Contacts shipping companies to determine best type and cost of shipment;
  • Interacts with customers at the “Will Call” counter. If so, locates items for customers and provides courteous service;


  • Completes other duties as assigned;

Minimum Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 – 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos;

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization;

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's;
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance;

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions;
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations;

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of ISIS Inventory software and Order processing systems;

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks and other manual and mechanical material handling and packaging equipment;

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • MHE certification required;

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception;


  • Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent;
