ADI Automotive Accessory Development Manager

Through its Sandy Corp Division, GP offers custom consulting, sales training and marketing services primarily to the automotive industry. 
GP/Sandy currently seeks a ADI Accessory Development Manager (ADM) to be based out of our clients facility in either Atlanta, Georgia or Chicago, Illinois.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contact assigned ADI's on regular basis. Maintaining a helpful and supportive attitude. 
  • Evaluate assigned ADI's sales performance, processes and personnel and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide consultative expertise and training to the ADI focused on developing and implementing action plans to improve in identified opportunity areas. Monitor and evaluate results. 
  • Provide consultative expertise and training to the ADI sales team to optimize their abilities to install a formal dealer retail selling process whose aim is to establish a robust, sustained front end "point of sale" accessories sales process at all of the ADI's assigned dealers. Help the ADI develop the optimal mix of point of sale, pre-loading and solicitation in their retail selling process. Differing ADI's and markets may require different approaches. 
  • Create a strong relationship between dealers and ADI salespersons by training ADI salespersons to become valued, credible "experts" (versus vendors) to their dealer customers. 
  • Provide consultative expertise and training to the ADI sales team to develop and implement strategies for growing their customer base and conquesting new dealers, especially high opportunity dealers/markets. 
  • Assist ADI sales personnel as required with dealer consultations and training. 
  • Develop and share "best practices" for selling GM Accessories with other ADM's across the country. 
  • Train ADI sales personnel on new best practice ideas/processes learned from other ADM's. 
  • Conduct "sales oriented" accessory product training for ADI sales persons (i.e. product features, benefits and competitive advantages). 
  • Support special GM programs and business plans aimed at improving accessory performance as required. 
  • Define and communicate to GM regional and/or central office any significant accessory related issues or concerns that arise. 
  • Be a resource for dealers and ADI salespersons on GM Accessory related programs, procedures and policies. 
  • Support ADI, dealer and GM field and central office meetings as required. 
  • Attend required training classes and take advantage of other opportunities to improve job related skills and knowledge. 
Required Skills
  • 10+ years experience with automotive dealership operations specifically retail vehicle sales and selling techniques. 
  • Automotive retail sales experience required, Saturn brand a plus. 
  • Ability to assess sales team performance and develop improvement plans. 
  • Ability to motivate, consult and train retail vehicle and accessories sales personnel on improving sales and establishing a formal retail selling processes. 
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others especially in a consultative and training mode. 
  • Results oriented, self motivated, and can work with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to travel (75%). 
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related degree. 
  • PC skills with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
