About Classic Touch Interiors & Restorations

Classic Touch Interiors & Restorations is a classic automotive restoration shop located in Englewood, Colorado. We provide full frame off restorations, mechanical, interior, body/fabrication and paint services all under one roof. Our family is proud to have spent the last 17 years helping the automotive dreams of others come true.

About Your Role

We are very busy, with a backlog of projects and new clients waiting in line. We are continuing to grow and need good people – skilled technicians and craftsmen with proven, professional experience that truly care about their work, care about producing as a team and have a passion for classic cars.

Specifically, we are currently looking for a custom metal fabricator specialist – panel beating, rust repair, body modifications (butt welding, no overlapping), etc., bodywork (panel fit, blocking, sanding, priming, etc.) and paint finishing (wet sanding and buffing). Ninety percent of our work is custom car building for 1995 and earlier vehicles.

Expectations of Job Performance

Project Management:

  • Use the work order to assess efficient and logical plan with materials and parts on hand and apply.
  • Take direction from shop manager.
  • Ability to self-manage your time on projects for maximum efficiency is paramount. A verbal progress report will be expected every day. We expect strong attention to project deadlines.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently as well as brainstorm in a team environment.
  • Accurately cut and bend patch metal and/or install OEM components per all work orders.
  • Ability to understand how individual components relate to the complete system in accordance with specific vehicle patterns.
  • Ability to modify OEM or factory components as needed in accordance with the specific vehicle pattern.
  • Must be able to be flexible – working on more than one project in split days.
  • Meet CTI end-product standards as well as identify for upgrades to the shop manager.

Parts and Materials Handling

  • Maintain accurate and error-free records of all materials.
  • Communicate missing and/or broken parts immediately.
  • Ability to adapt and conform with a wide variety of premium quality mechanical components.
  • Ability to research and assist in ordering of mechanical components.
  • Ability to verify correct part and fit of all parts prior to installation.
  • Inspection of both raw and finished product for conformance to specifications per work order.
  • Strong attention to maintaining the integrity of the vehicles’ exterior and interior clean and unmarred condition during the body component installation.

Shop Procedure and Tool Maintenance

  • Must be willing to assist in duties needed by manager to accommodate daily workflow – such as moving of cars or large tools for maximum efficiency.
  • Own basic tools and toolbox.
  • Use and knowledge of all basic tools and advanced fabrication tools.  Quick learner.
  • Strong understanding of measurements in all units.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently organized workstation daily.
  • Must help maintain a clean shop. Everyone helps clean, no exceptions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years previous experience in automotive restoration industry environment or other related fields of high-quality pre-1995 auto mechanics.
  • Experience with body/paint hand and power tools with precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to properly install components in tight spaces of vehicle.
  • Comfortable with automotive lift operation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
  • Comfortable with verbal and written direction and switching tasks as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from work daily.
  • Adhere to all health regulations and utilize all safety equipment.
  • Comfortable with basic computer login/logout for timecard.
  • Mandatory drug screening is required

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent standing and bending for long periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
  • Long periods of time under suspended vehicle on jacks or a lift.
  • Returns any unused inventory to storage and enters and keeps track of allotted vehicles to stay on schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Safely operates a motor vehicle.
