Working as a key member of our Management team, the ideal Sales Manager is a well-informed and extremely knowledgeable on vehicle selection, performance, accessories, inefficiencies, safety, features and functions, and financing options associated with our new and used inventory.  He or she has the ability to lead, mentor, guide, coach, and work with various types of personalities with professionalism and respect. The Sales Manager has the ability and experience in desking deals, motivating sales teams, controlling inventory, appraising vehicles, and acquiring vehicles. Experience in a high volume dealership with a proven track record required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 10 to 20 employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Auto Sales Manager Jobs | RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs the sales activities of the dealership by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all salespeople
  • Directs sales staffing and training in ways that will enhance the development and control of sales programs
  • Monitors salesperson productivity and performance via daily one on ones
  • Maintains and monitors manufacturer standards for customer satisfaction at or above dealership specified standards
  • Attends and monitors the product and sales training courses as required by dealership and/or manufacturer
  • Orders/acquires new- and used-vehicle inventory
  • Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs
  • Displays, merchandises, and promotes new- and used-vehicles
  • Serves as liaison between sales department and other departments
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Attends management meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensures that the same high quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers
  • Greets all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
  • Guides customers in filling out all appropriate paperwork
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines
  • Handles customer complaints or escalates when necessary
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction standards
