We are currently seeking an experienced Dealership Office Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring all Dealership accounting is processed in a timely and accurate manner, perform general ledger account analyses and reconciliations and close the general ledger on a monthly basis.

You will be managing a small accounting office of 5-6 people while teaching and leading others. The daily activities of the accounting office, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, work closely with the Controller, General Manager, and other managers to effectively run the dealership and manage expenses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Arkona/Dealer Track, and a broad knowledge of Automotive Dealership accounting. AP, AR, Billing, all aspects of payroll, quarterly reports, federal tax deposits, and Inventory accounting knowledge.

Automotive Office Manager Jobs | Responsibilities

  • Oversees accounting functions for the Dealership
  • Ensure office personnel is using proper accounting procedures & maintaining accurate records
  • Manage all aspects of payroll
  • Federal Tax Deposit knowledge
  • Analyze and organize office operations and procedures
  • Effectively manage cash flow through daily review of bank deposits and cash reports
  • Reconcile GL accounts daily
  • Maintain, clean & reconcile schedules
  • Recruits, hires, retains and manages Accounting Department staff
  • Cross-Trains staff members consistently for proper back-up
  • Manage daily office production
  • Process quarterly reports
  • Provide department managers with timely information to assist them in running and managing their departments.
  • Oversees the preparation and timely submission of the monthly Financial Statement
  • Coordinates activities of office staff within department
  • Posts daily ACH deposits
  • Reconciles and posts daily and monthly factory statements/payments
  • Must be able to back up each position in the office and step in when needed
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of TTL processes and HR regulations
  • Daily reconciling of aftermarket sales
  • Create ad-hoc reports as necessary

Automotive Office Manager Jobs | Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of dealership Accounting experience required
  • Arrive to work on time
  • Positive, team-building style attitude
  • Interacts effectively with co-workers
  • Understands and follows work rules and procedures
  • Accepts constructive criticism
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Arkona/Dealer Track proficiency
  • Excel proficiency
  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience as an Automotive Office Manager or similar role (Asst. Office Manager)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (AR/AP/Financial Statements etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
