Starr Motors is seeking a full-time Entry Level Technician to join our team in Suffolk, VA. Candidates must be skilled in basic auto maintenance, have strong attention to detail, and possess a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute oil changes and lubrication services on vehicles with precision and efficiency to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify safety or operational issues, recommending additional repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service area to uphold workplace standards.
  • Dispose of used oil and filters in compliance with environmental regulations and protocols.
  • Assist with minor repair tasks to support service department operations.
  • Engage in manufacturer-provided product training programs to enhance technical knowledge.
  • Pursue and obtain a Virginia State Inspection License to expand expertise.
  • Participate in the Starr Motors Fast Track Apprenticeship Program to develop skills for a future technician role.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least one year of automotive experience in a dealership, independent shop, or comparable setting is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than two infractions in the past three years).
  • Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • ASE certification in automotive engine repair is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain an efficient and orderly workspace.
  • Collaborative team player, fostering positive relationships with colleagues.
