We seek a detail-focused service manager to oversee our service department and manage customer interactions, reporting, and repairs. The service manager will be responsible for delivering top-tier customer service, fostering enduring customer relationships, and supervising the service team. A comprehensive understanding of industry standards, practices, and the company’s offerings is essential for the role.

A successful service manager should exhibit a robust sales-oriented mindset and outstanding leadership capabilities. The ability to cultivate and sustain solid, affirmative relationships with customers and external vendors is also crucial.

Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assign service tasks, track the progress of active projects, and lead service team members to meet team goals and sales objectives effectively.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns swiftly and professionally to maintain excellent customer relations and secure repeat business.
  • Assist with or handle administrative duties, such as managing and updating invoices, processing orders, and tracking inventory.
  • Establish and maintain a service desk, assessing its effectiveness.
  • Resolve service desk issues and enhance service methods to boost the desk’s productivity and customer service.
  • Monitor departmental issues and client complaints to devise strategies to reduce recurring problems.
  • Audit work and customer service to ensure the company meets its high standards, efficiency, and productivity objectives.
  • Sustain strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
  • Aid in training new employees on company procedures.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and thorough understanding of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company’s compliance, and stay informed about the industry’s standards and the latest innovations, materials, tools, and processes.

Service Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.
  • Prior sales experience is beneficial but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, sales, and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills paired with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Innovative problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Resilience to perform effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
