Job Summary

Maintain a smooth flow of vehicles through the shop.

Essential Duties – Include, but not limited to, the following:

• Greets all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat attitude, answers their questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or location.
• Controls service traffic flow and parking.
• Determines if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage.
• Assists service advisors when needed
• Maintains a clean and safe service drive area, free of dirt, water, leaves, debris, etc.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Place vehicle Interior Protection in each vehicle.
• Move vehicles to appointed parking area and ensure all windows are up and all vehicles are locked.
• Advise management of any customer articles such as CD’s, electronics, cash, etc. left inside any vehicle.
• Adhere to all customer service processes.
• Shuttle customers to and from various locations.
• Test drive and move customer’s vehicles as needed.
• Ensure customers’ vehicle is free of dirt and grease from their service visit.
• Light lifting duties when needed.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of general automotive maintenance and experience with in-person customer service highly desired.

Skills

• Ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid Driver’s License
• Clean driving record for insurance purposes

Physical Demands

Will be required to stand, walk, and work on their feet in a shop environment and often times entering, exiting, and driving vehicles in hot and cold temperatures.
