Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Coordinator - Summary

Manages the administrative sales activities of the dealership by performing the following duties.

Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Coordinator - Essential Duties

  • Directs sales staffing and training in ways that will enhance the development and control of sales programs.
  • Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs effectively.
  • Formulates procedures to improve delivery efficiencies based on analysis of sales statistics.
  • Analyzes market to determine customer base, market share forecast, volume potential, price and gross.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other departments in the dealership.
  • Analyzes and monitors expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements and prepares periodic sales report for sales manager showing department performance, trends and budget.
  • Monitors trucks on order and factory invoicing to be sure that specifications and pricing are correct.
  • Monitors and coordinates delivery schedules from the factory and to the customers to optimize delivery efficiency and reduce floor plan.
  • Monitors advertising effectiveness and provides regular reports to the sales manager.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Coordinator - Qualifications

Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Coordinator - Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Medium & Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Coordinator - Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
