Car City in George Town, Grand Cayman, is seeking a skilled Level 2 Automotive Technician who can diagnose and repair vehicles across all service areas and has previously worked as a Level 2 general service technician for automotive technician Level 2 jobs Grand Cayman and Car City George Town service technician roles.

This role reports to the Service Manager. As a general service technician Cayman Islands, ASE IMI NVQ BTEC technician Grand Cayman, or manufacturer certified technician Cayman, you’ll complete factory-standard repairs, work in the dealership DMS, and partner closely with Service Advisors to keep jobs moving accurately from write-up to delivery.

Candidates should have 4 to 5 years of Level 2 technician experience and strong English communication skills. Hybrid and high-voltage awareness is a plus for hybrid high voltage technician George Town and HV awareness workshop technician Grand Cayman work. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Save and tag parts if under warranty or requested by the customer
  • Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Communicate immediately with the Service Advisor if additional work is needed, outlined work is not needed, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
  • Document work performed and recommended electronically on the repair order
  • Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events
  • Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Supervise trainee technicians as assigned
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor
  • Keep customer vehicles clean and notify the Service Advisor of any change in appearance or condition
  • Keep the shop area clean and tidy
  • Maintain and account for all dealership-owned tools and return them in the same condition
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management
  • Perform other tasks as required

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures and teams in a friendly, productive manner
  • Intermediate or higher computer competency
  • Operating and understanding a DMS platform is advantageous
  • Relevant vocational qualification such as ASE, IMI, NVQ, BTEC National, or City & Guilds (other equivalent training and/or experience may be considered)
  • Manufacturer certifications in one of our brands highly advantageous
  • HV awareness necessary for workshop safety; training can be provided if not already held
  • Certifications in electric and high-voltage hybrid vehicles, especially our brands, highly advantageous
  • Automotive Technical Certification preferred
  • Valid driving license
  • 4–5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
