Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all dealership accounting and business office functions
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Manage cash, bank reconciliations, flooring, schedules, receivables, and payables
• Review vehicle deals for proper accounting and funding
• Monitor contracts in transit, receivables, CIT, schedules, and aging
• Oversee payroll coordination and related accounting functions
• Manage manufacturer statement submissions and account reconciliations
• Ensure sales tax, DMV, warranty, finance reserve, and other dealership transactions are properly recorded
• Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard dealership assets
• Work closely with the Dealer Principal, General Manager, department managers, lenders, auditors, and outside professionals
• Manage, train, and develop accounting/business office staff
• Identify accounting issues early and proactively resolve them

What We’re Looking For:

• Automotive dealership accounting experience required
• Prior experience as an Automotive Controller, Assistant Controller, or Office Manager strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and accounting schedules
• Experience with a major automotive DMS; CDK experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of dealership flooring, inventory accounting, CIT, receivables, payables, and manufacturer accounting
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability
• Strong Excel and computer skills
