In real hiring situations, the service manager looks for technicians who can take a complex concern from diagnosis through repair and final quality check without constant oversight, and Ford Certified preferred is the standard for most positions. Master certified technicians and ASE certified technicians move through the process fastest, while heavy truck diesel technicians and heavy-duty mechanics often transition well into the Heavy Line and Pro Elite roles, since the same diagnostic discipline carries over to Ford’s commercial platforms. The Opportunity

• Openings: Heavy Line Techs, Transmission Techs, and Diesel Techs
• Work locations: the main shop and the Pro Elite Commercial Fleet Center

Compensation

• Starting rate: $40 to $60 per hour
• Sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates

Day-to-Day Work

• Diagnose and repair major mechanical systems, including driveline, suspension, transmission, and/or diesel engines
• Document diagnostic steps, repair procedures, and parts used on repair orders, accurately and completely
• Road test and inspect after repairs to confirm performance and quality
• Flag additional repair needs and pass your findings to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman

Ideal Candidate

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
• 3+ years of automotive technician experience (Ford Certified preferred)
• Excellent communication and outstanding customer service skills
• Professional work ethic and high integrity
• Comfortable working on a team or independently
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
